It was the first game of the season for Fishburne Military School’s Varsity Basketball Team after a long Holiday Break, Squaring off against the ever-comeptitive North Cross, the Caissons played a hard-fought game that proved to be very competitive throughout.
Down by one point with six seconds left, the Caissons had a chance to win the game but came up short on a last-second shot. Junior forward Nathan Alexander led the team in scoring 11points and rebounding with 8. Senior Peja Brent scored 10 points and junior Chase Altis had 9 points.
The team played well given the long layoff and competition the entire game. Coach Broadhurst noted “that is what coaches want out of their playerss, just to compete at the best of their individual ability and the team will benefit from your effort. The reserve players were cheering and encouraging their teammates throughout the game. I’m proud of every player.”
